What’s new in SAP Sales Cloud 1908?

What’s new in the latest release of 1908 SAP Sales Cloud? See a brief and clear overview of what this might mean for your company.

During this summer, the SAP company launches an upgrade of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud to the newest version with a 1908 trademark. The testing tenants for all customers will be upgraded during the last weekend of July, followed by the production tenants on August 10-11, 2019. In this article, we will go through the most important changes of SAP Sales Cloud, which make the work easier and quicker to end users.

Creation of a contact person from an object

For all Sales objects, you will be able to create and assign the main contact person to an object after clicking on Help for a value.


„Search&Add“ and „Copy&Paste“ functions for the products

Another news for all Sales objects are the Search&Add and Copy&Paste functions for the products. Search&Add allows you to find out quickly if a product is already assigned to an object; this is especially advantageous if you have a large quantity of products in a list. If the product does not exist in a list, a new line in the object containing it will be created automatically.

Using Copy&Paste you can simply, by just a few clicks, copy items from a MS Excel table into a table of products within an object.


New mobile app

One of the biggest innovations in this release is the development of a new mobile application, which will be focused on simplification of the sales processes. This app will not substitute the recent responsive hybrid application; they will be developed in parallel. The initial version will be issued for iOS, with Android following later.

Initial properties:

  • Core CRM – support of basic Sales objects (Leads, opportunities, contacts, tasks etc.)
  • Messages – conversations focused on specific objects
  • CoPilot (BETA) – A.I. sales assistant (what will be its contribution?)
  • Push notifications


Among other more significant Fiori UI improvements in Release 1908, we would like to mention:

  • Setup of an own status of an occasion on the basis of the offer status using workflow rules
  • Adding an employee’s graphical signature to an offer
  • Language dependence of contractual forms
  • Copying orders in offline mode
  • Offline drag and drop support in the calendar
